CONGRATULATIONS to Steve A. Muir, Sr. president of Heeling Soles, Inc. Steve is Uniondale's Small Businessperson of the Year for 2017. He will be representing the Uniondale Chamber of Commerce's small business community at the Nassau Council of Chambers of Commerce Annual Awards and Legislative Breakfast on Friday, October 20, 2017 at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, N.Y.
The honoree must meet the following criteria to be considered for this prestigious award; (1) active member of the Chamber of Commerce, owns or manages a business located in the community, (2) has made a significant contribution to the local economy, and (3) has made a meaningful and important contribution to the general welfare of the local community.
Uniondale's Chamber Board of Directors unanimously agreed that Steve fully met and exceeded the criteria. We are honored to have him as a part of the Uniondale business community.
Heeling Soles, a registered 501(c)(3) since October 2014 is entwined in the ever growing sneaker culture and was formed based on the need to create a trusted and transparent platform for sneaker collectors and connoisseurs to give back. With continuous efforts they have been able to change the way those who are a part of the sneaker community think and have enabled them to be a part of the change they are tasked to affect.
Heeling Soles has also been able to call on the general public to not only participate in contributing to the cause, but to also gain insight into the sneaker culture and community. In conjunction with our sneaker collections and distributions, Heeling Soles is active in locally underserved communities.
By planning, participating and supporting community events focused on uplifting, informing and educating those who are most vulnerable to poverty and its devastating effects they have managed to stay effective while being a small organization.
