Nassau Council of Chambers of Commerce had their Annual Small Businessperson of the Year Breakfast at Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, N.Y. Guests included Lieut. Gov. Kathy Hochul who spoke on the importance of supporting small business development and local economies. This year Uniondale's award went to Joseph Gemma of Gemma's Automotive and Towing, Inc. located at 324 Uniondale Ave. Gemma's is one of Uniondale's long-standing exceptional businesses that has consistently contributed to not only the economic health of the community, but also to the social fabric of our diverse area. Special thanks to Town of Hempstead Supervisor Anthony Santino, Senior Councilwoman Dorothy Goosby, and Town of Hempstead Clerk Nasrin Ahmad for coming out to help us honor our small businessperson. Each year over 50 Chambers of Commerce come together for this event to recognize the achievements of Nassau County's best.
